Terms of Service

1. The Service

Once Upon a Moonbeam is a subscription service that generates personalized bedtime stories for children using artificial intelligence. Each night, a story is crafted based on profile information you provide — including your child's name, age, interests, and companions — and delivered to your email address at a time of your choosing.

The Service is intended for parents and guardians. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Children do not have accounts and do not interact directly with the platform.

2. Account Terms

• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may not share your account with others or use the Service on behalf of multiple unrelated households under a single subscription.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are used in a manner that is harmful to the Service or other users.

3. Subscription and Billing

Access to the Service beyond the free trial requires a paid subscription. We currently offer three plans:

• Starter — $9.99/month, for one child.
• Family — $19.99/month, for up to three children.
• Annual — $99.99/year, for one child.

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled. Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to receive stories until then and will not be charged again. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

4. Free Trial

New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial at the start of their first subscription. No payment is required during the trial period; however, a valid payment method must be on file.

At the end of the 7-day trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and your payment method will be charged at the applicable rate. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Free trials are available to new customers only. We reserve the right to limit or modify trial availability at any time.

5. Content and Ownership

The stories delivered through the Service are generated by an AI language model using profile information you provide. Because these stories are algorithmically produced, they may not qualify as original creative works under applicable copyright law, and ownership of AI-generated content remains a developing area of law.

We grant you a personal, non-commercial license to read, save, and share the stories delivered to you for your own family's private enjoyment. You may not reproduce, resell, or distribute stories for commercial purposes.

You retain full ownership of the profile information you provide (your child's name, interests, etc.). By submitting this information, you grant us a limited license to use it solely to generate and deliver your stories.

We reserve the right to use anonymized, aggregated data about story themes and usage patterns to improve the Service. We will never publish or share identifiable story content or profile data.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Submit profile information that is false, misleading, or intended to generate harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content.
• Attempt to manipulate the AI system through profile inputs to produce content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract stories or data from the Service for commercial or unauthorized purposes.
• Use the Service in any way that could harm, disable, or impair its operation or interfere with other users.

We reserve the right to review flagged content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that stories will be delivered without interruption, that delivery times will always be exact, or that AI-generated content will be free from errors, inaccuracies, or content you find unsuitable. You are encouraged to review each story before reading it aloud to your child.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Once Upon a Moonbeam and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or interruption of service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and by posting a notice on the dashboard at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.
